Wordless Wednesday – Comfort

Fluffy pj pants and colorful toe socks!

Baby, It’s Cold Outside

I much prefer cooler weather to heat. Even having a birthday during the hottest month of the summer in the Northern Hemisphere, I have never been a fan of summer or any sort of heat. I love trying to bundle up when the nights grow longer and the chill finally bites through the air. Every year, I’m on a quest for some type of winter coat. This and last year, I yearn for a lovely pea coat that provides a beautiful and feminine silhouette and is styled so it can’t possibly go out of style. Unfortunately, while trying one on at the mall last year, I left my purse unattended and it was stolen. This year, it’s just not wise of me to spend money on one when I’m more prone to wearing a pullover or zip-up hoodie.

Years prior, I’ve desired a nice wool button-up sweater and puffy insulated jacket. I achieved my wish and have two nice, but cheap, wool sweaters and my parents got me my puffy insulated jacket for Christmas two years ago. I’ve always preferred to be fully covered and bundled up and I think that’s why I prefer the Autumn & Winter months. I always look forward to the new and classic fashions coming out for the cooler months.

I’m thankful that I don’t have to live with more extreme winter weather, however. I have negligible experience with snow, especially during the winter and minimal experience with other frozen and freezing precipitation due to my years in the South-East. I do have to say, seasons in the South-East are a lot more extreme than I ever imagined. The summers are sweltering and miserable due to the added humidity with the heat, and the winters are quite harsh with a lot of days & night brought colder due to a wind chill. With more extreme weather during the winter, it’s a bit harder to look as stylish and cute as you’d like when you’re bundled up in tons of layers topped off with a funny looking beanie, scarf, gloves and a hardcore windbreaker. I’m thankful to live in an area of a state that experiences relatively temperate weather, no matter what season it is.
