Hello, Twenty Twelve

I spent a good hour or so going through Google Reader, taking it all the 2011 recap posts that most people have taken to doing today. I honestly can’t remember too much in specifics off the top of my head to provide you with anything remotely comprehensive. I also don’t chronicle my life too well even in photographs to help keep a visual guide, either.

January

  • I had my first tooth pulled; my lower left wisdom.
  • Bowled my 2nd or 3rd ever 200 game, buzzed no less.
  • Opened Veracity MB with Angel, Jennfur & Kristen.

February

  • Grandma turned 80!
  • Bowling in my company’s bowling tournament.

  • Served Kobe Bryant his food in the drive-thru at work.

September

  • My Marinara friends visited me down here in S.D.!
  • Experienced the massive blackout that affected most of Southern California
  • Snorkeled for the first time.
  • Went camping alone with Jess.

October

  • Bought my first corset.
  • I was served divorce papers on the anniversary of my grandpa’s passing.

Yes, there are two more months that I haven’t mentioned, but that was just the cherry on top of what had been a very tumultuous couple of months with Devin. Everything else since has seemed to be overshadowed by my dealing with that. I experience a bunch of up & downs, of course, but I think I’m not doing too badly in regards. It is what it is and for the best. We just haven’t grown up together and we want different things. Or rather, he doesn’t want to be married and I can’t keep trying to make things work on my own. Time to start anew.

Here’s to a new year with many new beginnings to come…

Lucky Number 7

Today hasn’t been a very successful day for me. I hurt a couple of really good friends over something SO not worth it. I had an argument with the husband. I couldn’t talk very well at work 1. Not to mention all the various little things I keep messing up here and there, like my constant spelling & grammar errors, and closing windows I didn’t mean to close. Considering the few bad things I’ve done, I’ll take this as karma kicking my ass. I deserve it, after all.

Thankfully I’ve seen some good out of the negative. I noticed Ashley over at neoncinema.org do this, and I figure I’d go ahead and do something similar :) As a way to improve my happiness, I’ll post things that made me smile and reflect on something other than what brings me down 2. Tuesdays are my Fridays from work, so I’ll take to it then :) Let’s start today, shall we? Well, it’s technically Wednesday now, but only by a few minutes! 7 things, one for at least every day of the week. More if it’s a real good week!

  1. Knowing I have friends who are willing to stand by me and see me improve as a person, even though I’ve hurt them.
  2. Catching up with my good work friend, Yesenia after her two weeks away with her new fiancé!
  3. Hearing Gunny purr the moment she looks at me.
  4. Getting news from my BFF that her baby daddy is now officially her boyfriend.
  5. Receiving news that I have no cavities after almost 3 years since the last time I saw a dentist.
  6. Opening and seeing Veracity thrive in just a few short days it’s been active! We did good, Angel, Jenn & Kristen!
  7. Feeling better after a good ending to an argument with the husband.

The big things can throw us off and make us think nothing is going right, not to mention it makes it harder to see the smaller things that matter and can make us just as happy… So, I’ll point out some good things weekly for as long as I remember to keep it up. Hopefully you’ll be able to do something as equally as beneficial for yourself! Here’s to a better year than the last!

  1. If I can’t talk, I pretty much can’t work.
  2. Even if it is of my own doing.
