I’m nervous about going back to college and possibly going for my meteorology degree. Weather is part science and part art which is why I love it, however the science part includes quite a bit of math, specifically equations like speed over distance equals time (or some ish like that) – which I could NEVER understand. I never got it. Ever. To know that I’ll actually have to take and pass math classes is really intimidating for me.

I’m sure it would’ve helped me big time if I actually got the math help in elementary, middle & high school. I was lucky enough to have some decent homework help because my mom is pretty good with numbers and my dad’s not too bad himself. However, I never could really comprehend some of the more difficult equations, rules, fractions and what-not.

Part of my problem is totally mental, I’m absolutely sure of it. I’ve disabled myself simply by turning my willingness to try and understand the more complex maths off. I was able to get some algebra help through books and friends. I was pretty relieved when I wasn’t in need of seeking out calculus help since the graduation requirements ended at geometry and Lord knew I wasn’t going to put myself through possibly failing another class when I didn’t need it. I know I’ll be needing some homework help when I actually start taking math classes again. Tutor me, away!
