I have had my website for almost two years, which includes that time I spent with anapneo.net. I’m still quite the n00b in regards to the back-end of owning my own domain. It’s helped to have website hosting with a company that’s been relatively quick with any and all technical issues I’ve had. I’m still putting my feelers out there for companies that may be more reliable and less buggy. It helps that I know a lot of other bloggers who have a hell of a lot more experience. Of course, I’d never march myself up to them and demand them to tell me their secrets and give me answers I want. That’s just rude.

It’d be quite interesting to see if any of them have joined in on green web hosting. It’s not something I’ve seen marketed around a lot, but considering how much people try and do something to make this world a better place, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was actually being utilized more than I’m aware of. I know I think of technology as a generally “clean” industry, but when I really think about it, there’s a lot of potential for pollutants involved. I’m thinking about all the batteries, computers, accessories, etc. that have to be disposed of in a special way due to certain chemicals and materials that would otherwise be quite hazardous to the planet if they were just thrown out like regular trash. It’s kind of daunting when you really realize how many different recyclable materials there are and how they should be separated and disposed of. However, that effort is nothing compared to the effort we’d need to make to further fix the pollution issues our world has.

Do you make the conscious effort to recycle, especially your electronics?
