For the past year or so, my wisdom teeth have been gradually growing in with little-to-no-problem. Currently, my lower left wisdom tooth is the one making the move. I never had them removed because the dentist never gave me reason that I should. X-Rays didn’t show them as impacted and I didn’t feel it necessary to have them removed if they weren’t giving me any problems, especially since they hadn’t grown in yet. Unfortunately, this one is proving to be more problematic than I care for. I expected the general discomfort of a tooth growing in, but not only am I constantly biting my cheek, but my jaw is more than a little sore. I don’t know if that’s a symptom of overcrowding, but it’s enough for me to actually want to make an appointment with a dentist and have this checked out, possibly removed.

I can tell you, I do NOT like the dentist. Growing up, every time the dentist said I needed work done and had it done, my mouth hurt afterward. Now, prior to the dentist doing work, my teeth didn’t hurt! There have only been a few times I’ve willing gone into the dentist to have something done, the last time being a necessary root canal after a filling didn’t take. I need to go to the dentist anyway for a check-up and cleaning. I haven’t had my teeth looked at since I left the military, sadly enough. There’s no excuse, considering the husband and I have dental insurance.

This pain in my jaw isn’t helped by the fact that I have to talk a lot at work and the whole eating thing. Sodium naproxen has been my friend today, but it kind of wears thin after several hours… Too bad it’s the weekend, or else I’d make an immediate appointment. In general, I’m not a happy camper due to the discomfort and pain. *emo*
