I live ~3 hours south from where I grew up1. I moved down here when my (ex)husband finally started his ATC job.

2. Have you ever been so angry that you almost lost control?
Absolutely. I end up throwing stuff and it usually breaks…

Does Cher and Celine Dion work for you?

4. Is there a movie that always makes you cry?
A Walk to Remember.

5. Who is the most famous person that you’ve met?
Kobe Bryant and Drew Brees are the most recent, and also the most currently famous. I have a list of celebrities I’ve seen/met, though2

Phone, keys, lip balm of sorts, debit card.

7. What do you miss the most about being a kid?
Not worrying about bills.

8. Tell us about a passion of yours that your readers would not expect.
I really love Worship music. It’s how I connect to God. It makes me cry sometimes.

9. At what age do you think you’d be to think, “I’ve had a great run”?
70.

  1. I use time and not actual distance, since that’s how Californian I am :P
  2. God, I hope that doesn’t sound like I’m bragging or anything XP

Friday 5: Hanging Out

It is Black Friday for everyone else but for me and my family, we are doing Thanksgiving Redux. The extended family went to the matriarch’s boyfriend’s family’s for Thanksgiving this year, so we’re doing our usual shtick a day late. I’m not complaining! Two Thanksgiving feasts in a row with a day between each in which to recover? How can it get any better than that?! In the mean time, until I come back to fully tell the story about it all, you get a Friday 5! Enjoy

  1. Where did you hang out with friends when you were a teen?
  2. At each others’ houses, in Ms. B’s classroom, the auditorium, the quad, in my car parked at Saticoy park, on the 2nd floor of the administrative building across from the dean’s office or on the bridge connecting the science building (at VNHS).

  3. Where did you hang out with friends when you were in your twenties?
  4. At home, at Jimmy’s, at work, at each others’ houses, at Jezebel’s…

  5. Where do you hang out with friends now? If you’re still in your teens or twenties, where do you imagine you’ll hang out with friends when you’re older?
  6. At home, Trogdor’s domain, Cheer’s, in Jess’s truck.

  7. What great hanging-out memories do you have?
  8. The best memories involve spending a long amount of time with just one or two people and talking a lot. There’s also the random stuff we end up doing anywhere else. I can’t exactly recall just one great one!

  9. What ingredient makes hanging out better some times than others?
  10. Chemistry with the people you’re with. Be able to just be who you are, hopefully some random stuff thrown in, maybe a little alcohol (though not at all mandatory!).

Saturday 9 – How Long

I won’t be the first, nor the last, to admit that I fail at NaBloPoMo. Can I say that I still have to stop for a second to make sure I’m typing out the right letters for that damn acronym or whatever-the-fuck those kinds of terms are called? Yeah. Now for something simple because I don’t feel like spilling my guts yet.

Saturday 9 – How Long

1. Have you ever discovered a betrayal? If so, did you ask, “How long has THIS been going on”?
Yes. Yes.

2. What is the longest line you’ve ever stood in? Would you do it again?
A few hours? Either for a ride at a theme park (Disneyland, Magic Mountain, etc.) or for Half-Blood Prince‘s midnight release.

3. Someone has hung a sign around your neck, and you have to wear it all day long. What does it say?
Bent & Broken.

4. As the Christmas season approaches, what song is it that you just can’t wait to hear?
I do love traditional Christmas carols as well as sort of swing-era renditions.

5. What Christmas song do you dread to hear?
Feliz Navidad & Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer.

6. How often do you read the last chapter of a book first?
Half of the time.

7. Do you have a favorite movie that you just love to see each year during the holidays?
I love the Santa Clause movies. And Harry Potter seems to be a good Christmasy-feel movie since they always feature the holiday, and ABC Family shows them a lot during the holiday as well lol.

8. Do you enjoy winter in the area that you live?
Absolutely. It gets relatively cold, sometimes wet, but we don’t have to deal with any blizzards or snow.

9. At holiday I think we all show more kindness. In your opinion, is this a “concept” that has value (like money or other tangible things) or does it exist as simply emotion? Why?
It depends on who you’re talking to. Some people might lighten up on their meanness or simply say nicer words, but there are tons of actual acts done out of kindness for the time of the year.

Wordless Wednesday – Food & Medicine
