My name is Michael, but the predominant name used by friends and myself these days is Mika. I’m a mid-20s born & raised “Valley Girl”. I spent 3 years in the United States Air Force as a meteorologist. I’ve been working for a popular, privately-owned regional fast food chain since January ’09. I’m recently single, coming out of 6+ year marriage to my 2nd high school sweetheart. Things are relatively amicable, thankfully. My place of residence is North San Diego in Southern California. I’ve been online since early 2000, and have been doing some form of blogging for nearly that long. I still have a few LiveJournal accounts that I revisit once in a while to see exactly how obnoxious I was. I pretty much performed the equivalent of Twitter in LiveJournal posts…
My interests are relatively low-key. I enjoy sleeping, watching TV & movies, listening to music, reading, browsing the internet and chatting with friends. On occasion, I’ll be stricken with motivation to clean and be productive outside of my giant recliner. Other not-so-lazy interests include bowling, singing, dancing1, theatre2, doing random things with friends, and wine tasting.
I’m a fairly simple person. I enjoy simple things and it doesn’t take a lot to amuse or bore me. I have a high tolerance for bullshit, which has led me on with several relationships that are just a tad on the toxic side of the spectrum. I’m a trusting, trustworthy person. I love to be the sounding board for friends and if you’re able to handle it, I’ll tell you the truth, otherwise, I’ll end up telling you what you want to hear. I don’t like arguing, but will when I have to. I’m open-minded and have no problem apologizing or admitting when I’m wrong. Don’t insult my intelligence or character, though. I will cut you, or at least drop you down several notches on the respect-o-meter I have running in my head.
