My name is Michael, but the predominant name used by friends and myself these days is Mika. I’m a mid-20s born & raised “Valley Girl”. I spent 3 years in the United States Air Force as a meteorologist. I’ve been working for a popular, privately-owned regional fast food chain since January ’09. I’m recently single, coming out of 6+ year marriage to my 2nd high school sweetheart. My place of residence is North San Diego in Southern California. I’ve been online since early 2000, and have been doing some form of blogging for nearly that long. I still have a few LiveJournal accounts that I revisit once in a while to see exactly how obnoxious I was. I pretty much performed the equivalent of Twitter in LiveJournal posts…

I’m a simple person, easy going and easily amused. On the flip side, I’m lazy, a tad indecisive and as easily bored. I’m fairly social and love entertaining. Half the time I love to get out and go to a dive bar, bonus if they have karaoke. The other half, I love just hanging out with friends, drinking, talking, playing board games or making commentary on bad films found on Netflix.

I’m a very open person, which makes it difficult for me to know when to stop sharing about myself. I’m also very open minded, as I’m a very good sounding board for people.

Sometimes I come off as a ditz or stupid. Sometimes they’re genuine moments, but I’m really not an idiot. Not all the time, anyway. I can be a little (or a lot) awkward in one-on-one situations with new people. I love to laugh and to make others laugh. My sense of humor is primarily in the gutter with some dumb, darkness and the rare “good one” thrown in for good measure.
