If you didn’t know already, I own two fanlistings. If you don’t know what a fanlisting is to begin with, here’s the description from TheFanlistings.org:
A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) – they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not only) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting fans across the globe.
I own and maintain the fanlistings for the Garden State soundtrack and the Sam & Andrew relationship (from Garden State). I’m currently having issues with getting the script I’m using to do what it needs to so I’m not placed on a “trouble” list on TheFanlistings.org – so I’m looking into using other scripts. I’m not sure how it’ll pan out, but I have a few days to figure it out.
This should get interesting… If any of you reading out there have suggestions, I’m more than open to them! All I need, really, is to get the member’s country to display next to their name and all will be right with the world. I’m probably going about it the hard way, but the script I’m currently using isn’t being supported by the developer and there’s little-to-no help documentation I can find.

What script are you using and what is it not doing right?

I’m using Enthusiast and I can’t figure out what to do to make it display the country next to the member’s name/details. It only shows the drop down list to select which country you want to view.

Did they actually say that you’d be on troubles for this? I trouble-check for TV and I’ve always understood it to be that as long as you can sort by country, it doesn’t have to list it next to the name. Your fanlistings look fine to me. I’m a little paranoid that I’m wrong though, so maybe ask on the Fanlistings forum?

I’m currently on it since, I guess, no countries show next to names when viewing ‘All Fans’. Apparently, the person checking it would get ‘All Fans’ when they selected a specific country. I didn’t actually check that part of it until after I tried the different script snippets, but it works for me (showing only certain fans per country selected). I guess if I have countries next to the names when viewing ‘All Fans’ or by default, it would save me from this in the future. I’ve posted a topic about it in the TFL forum under the scripts help section.

I had no idea that you owned FLs, lol. I wish I knew more about it but unfortunately I don’t. Maybe try messaging Joana on Ecstasy? Her name is Tsukhiro (or something or other) and she owns quite a few herself!

I have to say, since I’ve owned them, I haven’t gotten a lot of new members. I should probably figure out a way to promote them so people know they’re there. Although, I don’t know how into fanlistings people are anymore – probably not very
Thanks for the suggestion about contacting Joana! I posted in the TFL forum about the script problem I’m having and if I don’t have any lucky with that in the next day or so, I’ll go ahead and message her

I just started a fanlisting collective at the beginning of this year. I only own two as well and I use Enthusiast. Are you trying to get rid of the drop down option altogether?

No, I’m trying to make it so that countries display next to the members’ names along with the drop down list of countries.
